Launching in stores July 9, the Spring 2014 collection - The Editions - continues to deliver a highly detailed and contemporary collection that stays true to the brand’s modern aesthetic
During recent travels, designers Bridget McCall and Nicholas Van Messner discovered several perfumeries and experienced the power of combining multiple sensory elements and layers that work in harmony to create something beautiful. Transcending the sensory layering process allows one to recognize that the presence of one element may alter the perception of another, and that different effects can be created by the slightest of adjustments.
This level of detail and philosophy of beauty through complexity forms the basis of LIFEwithBIRD’s Spring 2014 collection, the range continues the use of premium fabrics from Italy, France and Japan in producing long slim line silhouettes balanced with structured volume. Beautifully crafted digital prints are fundamental to the LIFEwithBIRD ethos. The digital silk chiffon print was inspired from a molecular level. After viewing fragrances under a microscope, an animal cellular pattern emerged as a key element, which resulted in the arresting Compound Print.
On both silk crepe de chine and neoprene an electric jolt of Citron has been added to create a bright graphic floral representation of the classic English country rose. Complex structures can be seen through a selection of quality fabrics and careful construction – the Silk Grid gives insight into the fine working and framework behind the garments.
