POSITION TITLE

Sales and Marketing Executive for LIFEwithBIRD

REPORTING TO

General Manager

Collaborates closely with PR / Online / Retail

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

To build brand positioning and support the sales momentum for Australian markets, by managing the holistic marketing strategy for Life with Bird across Retail and Wholesale.

To strategically manage and lead all aspects of the LIFEwithBIRD market position and presentation in the marketplace, being influential in shaping the brand identity.

Develop and execute brand marketing and communications strategy for LIFEwithBIRD retail, online and the wholesale business across all platforms to achieve set objectives in the sales and marketing plan.

Oversee all Marketing and Social activity to engage and retain potential and existing customers globally.

Schedule and manage content and resources to communicate the LIFEwithBIRD brand story nationally and globally.

Understand, reinforce and implement the creative direction of the LIFEwithBIRD brand.

Support wholesale agents in Australia to set strategy, deliver on budgets and service agents and wholesale accounts requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

MARKETING RETAIL & ONLINE
  • Responsible for setting, executing and monitoring seasonal marketing strategies that directly impact sales outcomes
  • Coordinating overall marketing calendar & build strong relationships with the relevant marketing stakeholders
  • Stay abreast with trends in the retail and marketing at POS and online to ensure innovative collateral for LIFEwithBIRD
  • Support the Retail sales team with marketing initiatives in-centre and in-store (store events / season launches / new store openings)
  • Support the retail stores in creation, costing, co-ordination and roll-out of POS, in-store concepts and promotional material
  • Influence customer networking and advocacy
  • Creating seasonal packages/assets for retail stores, centres and wholesalers
  • Assist PR with event organisation and associated collateral
  • Support PR to seek alignments and collaborations in line with brand strategy and marketing plan as required
  • Input into conceptual VM direction and execution
  • Maintain the marketing wall visual display
  • Manage marketing budgets to ensure expenditure is in-line with budget and leverage to achieve maximum impact. Budget expenditure per season to be approved by General Manager
  • Contribute to PR strategy to ensure it is beneficial for Sales and Branding
  • Work closely with PR to ensure marketing is complimentary and well planned in accordance with Sales timelines, and is delivering a measureable ROI for Sales
SOCIAL MEDIA
  • Support Bridget McCall with the LIFEwithBIRD Digital and Social Media content and channel management with relevant content across all PR/Marketing related initiatives
  • Post content to social platforms – 7 days a week 
    • Instagram 
    • Facebook 
    • All other social media platforms
  • Collating and scheduling unique content from PR, Bridget and external sources for social channels
  • Implement cost effective social media promotions to encourage community growth

WHOLESALE SALES

  • Responsible for developing the Channel & Customer strategy
  • Delivering the brand, category and customer growth plans
  • Sourcing new business development opportunies
  • Presenting all majors, agents & key account pre-lines & range presentations
  • Collaborate on all strategic plans for growth for wholesale, both nationally and internationally
  • Foster key account relationships; maintaining and building excellent relationships with customers and agents
  • Managing, coaching and developing the sales agents Nationally, conducting weekly meetings to drive outcomes
  • Responsible for creating, allocating and reaching national wholesale budget
  • Obtaining retailers seasonal merchandising plans, post seasonal reviews and analysis, quarterly business reviews with key accounts and weekly sell through reporting and management
  • New account research
  • Conduct internal meetings and effectively motivate, manage and resolve any issues
  • Ensure operations run smoothly and meet the business standards
  • Problem solve any issues for all Major, International & National accounts
  • Ensure all sales related representation of the brand is consistent with the Brand Style Guide and heightening the positioning of the brand
  • Monitoring all deliveries ensuring stock is received within the specified window and liaising with production when issues arise
  • Manage all Stock Levels with minimal cancellations of CODs and on-selling excess wholesale indent stock
  • Enforce the aged stock exit cycle policy to ensure minimal stock position in WH at close of every month
  • Responsible for the optimising stock turns and total inventory management
  • Delivering budgeted sales and managing sales expenses
  • Liaising with the Graphic Designer to develop sales lookbooks and material including invites and style references for each collection
  • Assist Junior Accountant in chasing 61-91 day accounts and COD accounts. Ensure we have no 60+ day accounts
  • Ensure that the COD policy is maintained
  • Ensure agents on-sell cancelled orders
  • Ensure agents commission is paid
  • Present Majors and key accounts promotional calendars in weekly meeting
  • Ensure all Major accounts are supported with unique PR & Marketing strategies and profit from overall brand activity
  • Participate in Major’s marketing events
  • Weekly contact with all accounts providing feedback to Directors and General Manager on in-store activity, competitor activity, product requirements, and deliveries
SHOOT PRODUCTION
  • Schedule, produce and oversee photoshoots (campaign, online, flat-lay/ghost)
  • Work with the Director on creative direction
  • Organise casting & booking models
  • Sourcing set styling props & furniture
  • Book photographer/studio/hair/make-up/stylist & any other shoot crew
  • Organise shoot catering 
  • Organise sample inventory and transport to & from studio 
  • Manage and compile budget and call sheet documents
  • Facilitating all tasks and roles on day(s) of shoot
REPORTING
  • Weekly marketing activity reporting (inc Social) and artwork schedule (Monday team meeting)
  • Wholesale tracking and reporting against budget by territory
  • Analyse and report sales data for internal distribution
  • Pre season handover + Post season SWOT reviews for wholesale business including sell-throughs, best perfomring styles
  • Monthly marketing activity reporting in conjunction with Press Contractor
  • Weekly social media planning (Facebook + Instagram)
  • Report on social media effectiveness, engagement and reach
  • Develop measurement methods for return on investment
ADMINISTRATION
  • Pass invoices for purchases to accounts, signed, dated and coded correctly
  • Filing of documents (sales, marketing and design files, invoices, imagery on server)
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Degree educated in relevant Marketing, Business or related discipline
  • 2+ year’s experience and demonstrated success within a similar role
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the Australian fashion market
  • Experience in Wholesale Sales and Strategic Marketing in Designer Fashion and/or Retail is preferable
  • Strong understanding in the retail and digital landscapes to implement effective brand awareness activities with a strong emphasis on ROI
  • Knowledge of latest technologies and industry trends
  • Budgeting and planning
  • Hands on work ethic with the ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively whilst also being an excellent team player
  • Adhering to deadlines and planning timelines, working on multiple projects at any given time
